How do you reach help when living in isolation?

Dear MAF-family,

The Communications team is proud to present a 24-minute documentary from Papua New Guinea, initiated and produced by Tajs Jespersen. Filmed by Tajs Jespersen, Aquila Matit and Timon Kundig.

The documentary

In this video the two pilots, Timon Kundig and Jan Klassen, fly out to Sengapi, where they meet with Issac Kaupa – a local health worker who has been impacted profoundly by MAF. Together, the three of them walk back to Mount Hagen over the mountains – to experience the journey that most Sengapi people experience without access to MAF.

This TV-episode-length documentary shows the challenge of isolation and the difficulty of walking instead of flying. Viewers also get to hear the story of Issac and his wife Melisha Kaupa, who are both community health workers in Sengapi. They share of their personal experience when Melisha was flown on a medevac for their first-born child to be saved.
