First-time flyers with MAF share what it means when they can avoid a long, tiring drive across Guinea.

A MAF flight from the capital Conakry to Siguiri in northeastern Guinea has made a huge difference to the work of a team from Catholic Relief Services, and for a doctor working in an isolated community.

CRS were flying to the city to develop projects including a market gardening programme. The two-hour flight meant they did not have to waste two days driving on poor roads, which allows them to be more effective in the remote community.

Moussa Dominique, of Catholic Relief Services CRS for Guinea, said: “This is our first flight with MAF, but we must tell you that we were happy to make the trip with MAF.

"It wasn't really complicated. And we arrived really in the space of 2 hours of time.”

“My wife and I are both doctors. So, we do a lot of medical work here to help the medical system and then also just sharing the love of Christ with the people here,” he said.”

“We love the people here; we love the culture. Everybody has been so warm and welcoming to us.”

“You know, just taking care a lot of people in our neighbourhood as patients, they've been very gracious, very open to us and kind of made us a part of the community, so we're thankful for that.”
